Thanks for your story. I'm grateful for my presence here on Medium because so many readers have set me at ease with their stories of declawing.

So far my girl seems OK. She's had to practice a few times jumping up on the banister and above the kitchen cupboards but she's made it.

She tried sharpening on my favorite chair when she first got home and I felt terrible. Since then, I've never see her even trying. I got rid of all scratching posts.

I really appreciate you writing back so I don't feel like a monster. I still have only told a few people. And no one has noticed. Interesting.
