That's a great move for your mom. Mine was in an apartment in an assisted living community and had tons of activities that kept her busy. When I retired I wanted to bring her to live with me at her house but my sister said no. She was the POA and ran the show. I really couldn't fight her. She thought my mom was better where she was and I couldn't make her see the loneliness she had because of COVID. I think she thought I might look like I was in charge then and that was not allowable. I never knew anything about my moms finances.

There is no staff where I'm going except a lady at the community center who takes work orders from the residents and a handy man that decides whether he can fix it or needs to hire out.

It's pretty much a 55 and older community but better. We don't have meals or anything like that. Just activities you can join if you want and some clubs like any other community. There's golf and tennis nearby. A theater, restaurants, etc.

I write about my experiences in life. Some mundane, some sad, some funny, and hopefully none boring!
