That's how lives crumble. Addiction hurts the whole family in so many ways. Almost every issue my children have today can be traced back to their mom's and grandfather's addictions. Things they saw. Lies they were told. Times they were stolen from or tricked.

I recall the sick feeling I felt when reading the court reports on my ex's DUIs and seeing him listed as indigent. That man worked so hard all his life to end up with nothing.

I'm sorry you dealt with all that trauma, especially when you got comfortable and thought it was going so well. And you had a little girl. You never know which demon is chasing someone in your family, and you all are collateral damage.
