The book by Dylan Klebold's mother was actually a really incredible read.
I read this and it was well written. She's an intelligent and honest woman caught up in a mess that shocked her as much as everyone else. Let's not forget she lost her child, too. She was no less grieving than any of the others.
How heartbreaking for her. Someone has to be "blamed" and it's usually the parents.
But, to say she "should have known"... just makes me sick.
She obviously loved her son and took good care of him. Parents don't know every move their teen makes. I'll admit I didn't. I had 4.
Those 2 boys fed on each others inner loneliness and hate. Then, they lost all sense of reality. That shooting was so different from the others. 2 shooters so sick ("budding psych and socio") they knew they would die that day and walked around that school smiling and chatting with some of the kids. They did not seem full of rage. Sick.
As for the Bernall book.... I am not in any place to judge but being it was never proven it did seem the family went a little too far playing up such an event for a profit.
Thank you for naming the students, including those injured.
