The push is more for themselves than it is for their child. My sister has 2 daughters and one became a doctor. In conversations, I swear, if I mention her name the other person always says, "Oh, is that the doctor?" because that is more important than anything else in the conversation even though it has no relevance. My mom did it all the time as well. She had some dementia so it was forgivable. She never said my niece's name. All she said was, "Oh, you mean the doctor?"

Ironically, my niece does not put on any airs. She is so down-to-earth and humble.

I'm sure you had to live down your decision for a while.

I write about my experiences in life. Some mundane, some sad, some funny, and hopefully none boring!
