There’s a Good Reason the Captain of the Football Team Does Not Get Bullied

Is a bully prevention squad the answer?

My son was 12 when he came running home full of sweat, very agitated, and gasping for breath.

He had blood on his arms and face.

He told me he was beaten up by an older boy…not at school but a friend’s house.

I was upset because my son was half the size of that boy.

I asked him what happened and he said he had a football card the boy wanted and my son said he would not trade it.

So the boy beat him up.

The card was torn during the scuffle rendering it useless.

The whole thing had me very upset but my son said to leave it alone or things would be worse for him.

A week later he told me he had some tough guys go after the boy and “kick his ass”.

The older boy left my son alone after that.

I’m not saying that’s the right thing to do but desperate times call for desperate measures and turnabout is fair play. Isn’t it?
