This is a definite. I live in a community called a “Life Plan”. We buy in and have lovely ranch homes cared for (mostly) by the maintenance staff. All appliances etc are owned and repaired by the foundation that owns and runs it. Right now I need a new air and water filter for my refrigerator and I put in a work order to get that done. This is just a 55 and older community but if necessary we can move to assisted living at another campus plus memory care and skilled nursing. We pay a monthly fee as well but we are guaranteed care for life even if we run out of money. It comes at a price but I know right now my children are too busy, had their children later in life, and need to work. There will be no time for me and I understand that. I know they love me and I don’t want them to feel any obligation to take me in later in life. These communities are becoming very popular exactly for the reason your article proclaims. Times have changed.
