This sounds like one of the 12 steps but they get a bye. They don’t have to ask forgiveness of someone if they think it will cause more pain. Who gets to decide that? The offender. So I never got an apology But I forgave anyway. He was and is a coward in every sense of the word. He has to look in the mirror and like himself and I doubt that’s possible. Did you get an apology?
