Weeellll...I can see how he took it wrong. He's probably used to her calling him a "good boy," and that's OK, but thinking it through and comparing her actions and him to a dog is an insult in his mind. You are just a bit beyond him in the what's humor, what's polite, and what's condescending area of life. I hope you don't have to see them for a long time.
