What a kind person to encourage you like that. I was very young when I got pregnant and immature. I considered someone adopting my baby, but my parents would not allow it. Consequently, I wasn't a bad mom but a terrified and clueless one. My mother told me the baby should have no more bottles after one, so I took them away. She said my daughter should be potty trained after turning one, and I tried but failed. My poor baby was way too young. I listened to my mom as if I was her child (I was) and obeyed her. I often thought about a family like you and your husband adopting her and giving her the structure she would have needed. Anyway, I believe many of her problems to this day are due to that stressful time in my life, and we talk about it a lot. Almost 50 years ago, and we are still healing. But it is open between us. I admire you so much, Ruby.
