COVID Deserves to Be All Caps?

Use Spellcheck of any kind and you will see COVID is in all capital letters.

I have mentioned Covid-19 and its variants in some of my articles. Every time I use spellcheck COVID gets totally capitalized. As in ALL CAPS.

Why is that?

What makes that creepy little killer virus worthy of all capital letters?

It’s not really acceptable in any form unless it is being SHOUTED out. As in, it’s so very important. See above reference.

There are at least 10 variants of COVID-19 now identified, that is a whole different article, to be written by someone way more informed and qualified than me.

So far it’s main variants Omicron and Delta are not coming up as all capital letters when using Spellcheck.

I’m just amazed at the damn COVID virus being in all caps.

Am I The Only One Who Has Noticed This?

Well, anyway, I thought this was interesting. And we are writing about this evil virus more and more.

Just be sure you write it in all caps which is apparently what it deserves.

God, Jesus Christ, or The Beatles aren't even written in all caps!

The Takeaway Here Is The Importance We Put on Such a Garbage Virus.

Do you see Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Polio, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Yellow Fever, Black Plague…..any of those in all caps? Nope. They were not given such status.

So why is COVID-19?

Top Things You Need to Know According:

https://www.cdc.gov/ncird/index.html

New variants of the virus are expected to occur. Taking steps to reduce the spread of infection, including getting a COVID-19 vaccine, are the best way to slow the emergence of new variants.

Vaccines reduce your risk of severe illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19.

COVID-19 booster doses are recommended for adults ages 18 and older. Teens 16–17 years old who received Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines can get a booster dose if they are at least 6 months post their initial Pfizer-BioNTech vaccination series.

AND…BE SURE YOU PUT COVID IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS….. Just kidding!! That is not part of the CDC information.

But, don’t you wonder who decided it should be written in all capital letters?
