Wow, Emily. I could have written this several years ago when I got sucked up into the same fantasy.

And he perpetuated it.

Wanted to marry me. Promised me the little cottage with the white picket fence.

I left my husband. Hurt my kids. I was like a vampire seeking his blood. He ate it up.

He was a UPS driver with nothing to his name. He just caught my fancy when I was at a vulnerable point. Right place, right time, right at my front door.

Then it hit me. He wasn't leaving his wife. He was sleeping with her too .....all along. The ugly shrew who didn't understand him?

I was younger, prettier, shapelier, a free spirit....all the things she wasn't.

But, she was kind, a good person, and innocent.

I found out he did this all the time with other women on his delivery route. I felt sick.

That's all it took. I woke up. Changed my phone number. Gave him the boot. He looked like crap in my eyes now.

I still got divorced and found many good men to date and married one of them. A real man.

Not a snake.
