Yes, by the time they figured it out and admit their culpability, many, many lives were already messed up, and still are.
I was lucky. I was getting oxy for kidney stones and subsequent surgeries but didn't take it a lot. I guess I didn't like the way it affected me.

It's still prescribed for post-op patients in limited amounts. It's a good drug that was mishandled by misinformed people.
Giving my daughter the fentanyl patch surprised me. Especially in that large dose. I don't think they believed her when she said she was not taking opiates. So they gave her a big dose thinking she was already tolerant. And that big dose gave her nausea and vomiting, headaches, and low BP.
It was never addressed all those weeks. It could have been easily handled if they had been paying attention.
Then she got addicted to it.
If they aren't educated on it, the staff think addiction means abuse of all drugs. That's just not true.
