You are my daughter. She has been 30 years dealing with addiction. She once was clean for 10 years. Because she found exactly what you’ve written here she’s gone back to addiction after several months clean. She can’t cope with her life not being perfect once she stops drugs. The last 2 were after we finally found her in an ICU in a downtown hospital. She should have died many times. The difference with me is we all still love her but will not enable her in any way. I take that back. One sister breaks down and sends her money after she tells a sob story we know is all lies. She knows she only has a relationship with her as long as she gives her money. We all know it’s an illness but we have gone on with our lives as if she doesn’t exist. It’s the only way to cope after 30 years. She abandoned her 2 children and they are amazing. I thank God for them every day right after I ask Him to please bring my daughter back from the pit of hell she lives in. She’s 50 and I still cry over her. Hating an addict is easy. She’s stolen from all of us. Just last Xmas she showed up as usual to get her gifts. She never gives any of us anything. She stole $50 from my 9 year old granddaughters gift pile. I can go on and on and compare her to you. She’s everything you’ve written. Thank you for this wonderful story. It’s the first thing I’ve read today and I love you already. I’ll pray for your continued recovery and love and care you deserve from others. I admire you more than you can imagine.

I write about my experiences in life. Some mundane, some sad, some funny, and hopefully none boring!
